THE OPPORTUNITY

Lead locally.
Build nationally.

The assigned Conference Director will serve as the organization’s operational leader within the assigned conference. This person will turn the national vision into reliable local execution by building center relationships, leading event teams, serving athletes, and delivering professional tournaments under one consistent PBO standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that strong events are built through preparation, clear communication, financial accountability, and respect for every bowler who enters the building.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 01

Plan and manage seven approved Year 1 event weekends, with normal and Senior 50+ divisions conducted concurrently at each stop.

  • 02

Identify and develop relationships with host bowling centers, coordinate event dates, and support venue agreements approved by national leadership.

  • 03

Deliver every event under PBO playing rules, operating standards, brand guidelines, and athlete-service expectations.

  • 04

Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise event staff responsible for registration, lane assignments, scoring, rules administration, and tournament flow.

  • 05

Prepare event budgets and submit deposits, expenses, settlements, and financial reports in coordination with the Executive Director and CFO.

  • 06

Promote conference events and maintain productive relationships with bowlers, centers, local partners, sponsors, and community organizations.

  • 07

Manage on-site questions, incidents, and rule concerns professionally, documenting matters that require national review.

  • 08

Submit timely results, points information, participation records, event reports, and operational recommendations after each tournament.

  • 09

Support national initiatives, cross-conference coordination, and the long-term development of the Professional Bowling Organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience managing bowling tournaments, sporting events, hospitality operations, or comparable live events.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, budgeting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of competitive bowling operations and a commitment to fair, consistent athlete service.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned conference and work evenings and weekends when events require it.
  • Comfort using online registration, spreadsheets, scoring systems, email, and shared operational tools.
  • Ability to work independently while following national policies and reporting to the Executive Director.
